virgil brazle // Connections Pastor
Virgil left a long time career in 2011 to answer a calling to full time ministry. His heart’s desire is that people of all ages find their place, purpose and passion within the family of God. He and Barb, his wife of 34 years, make “doing life” with others a priority. This includes time with their 3 sons and their wives who live in MD, MO and NY as well as their 2 grandchildren. Besides family time, Virgil likes doing just about anything “hands on” that involves tools as well as hiking, hunting, fishing, and camping. Though he and Barb have been in MD for a relatively short time, they are both glad to call this place “home”.
josh haltom // lead pastor
Josh was born and raised in the Midwestern-paradise known as “Indiana”. At the age of 17 Josh started attending church for the first time and answered many questions such as “Why are you here?”, “Don’t you know Church is for good folks, not punks?” and “Are you serious?”. Josh was a punk, but at least he was a serious punk. After falling in love with Jesus Josh came to realize that Church is indeed for those “punks”, the “not good enough” and even for those who think they are “good enough”, even though they aren’t. It was through his own relationship with Jesus that Josh realized the message of Christ is often lost in the message of Christians. It was at this point that he enrolled at Johnson University (JU) with the hope of better equipping himself to getting the message of Christ out to as many people as possible. It was at JU that Josh received a Bachelors Degree in Preaching, Bible, Youth Ministry, and a fiancé. Josh is now married to Julie who is beautiful, kind, loving, and works full-time to fight the ever-growing epidemic of sex trafficking. Josh and Julie reside in the spirited town of “Hydes” and have two dogs that they never should have let sleep in the bed “just this one time.” Josh enjoys when his sports teams are winning and talking out-loud about Jesus.
